We do tend to take sidewalks, and road, and streetlights, and sewer systems, etc. for granted. Especially those of us who whine non-stop about taxes.

Surprised your city is doing this. Mine says the sidewalk is my responsibility to maintain, and if they find that it’s broken they will fix it and then send ME the bill. Fuck that.
