Damn, didn't Team Redline get DQed from a virtual Nurburgring event for a ride height exploit? Sim skills really do translate to real life 😭
ETA: Back in June '25

Yeah tough to hear. Wonder how much of that minute lead can be explained by an extra set of fresh tires.
Either way, it was a fun race to watch. I just started watching NLS and some IMSA racing towards the end of last season, and I think I prefer it over F1 now. The racing is legit, and having multiple classes on track at the same time always keeps it interesting. I think Max will really add some spice to it whenever we get to see him do a recovery drive like we’ve seen him do in F1

None of it. The extra set was used during qualifying. All teams used 3 sets during the race (three pitstops)

So would it be the race engineers fault for miscounting?
lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 149d
I've been dipping my toes in Formula E and IndyCar this year and yeah the racing is much better than the past few years of F1. The '26 regs are off to a decent start and I hope the good racing continues.

Why is this in the F1 community?
woelkchen@lemmy.world · 12 pts · 149d
Max Verstappen is an F1 driver, in case you didn't know.
highduc@lemmy.ml · -8 pts · 149d
Yeah but this race isn't F1.
woelkchen@lemmy.world · 9 pts · 149d
Very accurate observation. And Max Verstappen is an F1 driver, so it's related news.
highduc@lemmy.ml · -8 pts · 149d
By that logic every time he takes a shit it's F1 news, because he's an F1 driver.
I don't think you actually believe that, you're just being malicious.
SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca · 8 pts · 149d
You new to F1? Everytime he takes a shit is F1 news. There is literally nothing interesting going on.

Pit stop coverage is where DC, Jacques Villeneuve and Danica would be expected to give their typical steaming hot takes. A live cross to the marshals to wipe up any debris left behind. And if there's still standing water, wets might be required.

If F1 media report on it, like this example: https://www.gpfans.com/en/f1-news/40064/schumacher-s-toilet-mind-games-revealed-by-rosberg/
.ml user being toxic and out of touch with reality. How surprising.
Not only do I believe that it's related to F1, so do mainstream F1 media. Example: https://www.planetf1.com/news/breaking-max-verstappen-disqualified-as-nurburgring-win-lost-to-rule-breach
There is broad consensus that Verstappen racing in NLS/N24 is 100% F1-related. If you don't agree: Just move on. Nobody forced you to engage with this post.
Also, this here isn't !formula1@lemmy.ml. The occasional "not F1 but still motorsports" post especially during F1's off times have been allowed by the mods several already. Expect the same in April, especially if Verstappen happens to race again in NLS3. Maybe we'll even post about IMSA Grand Prix of Long Beach because it happens when the Jeddah GP was meant to happen before cancellation.

It’s an off week so who cares that it isn’t an F1 race.
tehn00bi@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 149d
Because there is a lot of drama tied to this.
highduc@lemmy.ml · -8 pts · 149d
There's a lot of drama tied to the Iran war, maybe we should be posting that too.
