I believe it might be one of the fundamental truths of the Buddha.... You never have the correct number or types of clamps. Yet always have seemingly too many clamps to justify buying more.
You need to label them as 1 meter pipe clamps so the work thinks it can get away with being 1.1 meters, but then at the last second you rip off the label and yell "SURPRISE, IT'S ACTUALLY LONG ENOUGH!"

This is absolutely true. I have 1.5 meter pipe clamps as well but the first time I tried using them ended up the same way: not long enough.

Classic mistake.

When all you have is a clamp, everything looks like a clamp.

Take the rubber protectors off one/both ends, toss a thin cloth in there.

I did, but lets not talk about that.

You could remove the hollow metal cylinders on the bar itself. They prevent your clamp from sliding off.

Drill out the stop, that's certainly a decision you won't regret for as long as you own the clamp.

If you say the word "CLAMP!" it sounds pretty funny. You can say it anywhere, it will always be a pretty funny word. CLAMP.

The solution is always more clamps

Pipe clamps ftw. Brick wall started falling down on my house, got 30ft of pipe and clamped it down. Problem solved

Just remove the plastic thingy that if you're anything like me you're gonna lose anyway?
tomiant@piefed.social · 2 pts · 150d
You lose things on purpose before you lose them on accident, in order to retain a semblance of agency in your life?

I actually don't think I get it. Is the handle backwards? ๐ค
Iconoclast@feddit.uk · 8 pts · 150d
It's about 4mm too short. It's a classic trope with clamps - you never have enough of them or the right one.
IntrovertTurtle@lemmy.zip · 1 pts · 150d
Ahhhh, fair enough, I don't DIY often enough to know the tropes lol
