was lemmy.sdf.org down for you?
the outage was reported several times on bboard, but judging by the admin response, it seems like there never was any problem.

It wasn't just Lemmy. Even sdf.org was inaccessible (not responding to ping either). Perhaps admin just checked from local network.

It was down since Friday, and last time looked into it was getting name server errors. So maybe issues with the provider it runs on?
pmjv@lemmy.sdf.org · 4 pts · 133d
well, I don't know about that, but i reported it on sdf's irc in #helpdesk, where it was corroborated that there was an issue with the certs, but that it was also broken beyond.

wesker@lemmy.sdf.org · 10 pts · 133d
where were you during the great content famine of 2026?
CanadaPlus@lemmy.sdf.org · 7 pts · 133d
Definitely not cheating on the instance. /s
goferking0@lemmy.sdf.org · 2 pts · 132d
I just wish I could say the other instance didn't also have performance issues

dm'ing you on irc
wesker@lemmy.sdf.org · 3 pts · 133d
Oh, yeah, about that. My bouncer is logged in, but I haven't set up my client since I formatted my laptop well over a month ago...
pmjv@lemmy.sdf.org · 3 pts · 133d
i just said "i'm getting the content shakes, man, if i dont post anything in the next 3 months, i will probably die."
wesker@lemmy.sdf.org · 2 pts · 133d
I feel you. Though now I do have a few content ideas to sketch up this Friday evening.

The second one or the third one?
qrstuv@lemmy.sdf.org · 9 pts · 132d
I feel like this might warrant the consideration of some response by the union.
MistressRemilia@lemmy.sdf.org · 6 pts · 132d
I cleared the browser cache, tried on two machines, and also logged out/back-in with Jerboa. Nothing. It's gotta be on the server side.
qrstuv@lemmy.sdf.org · 3 pts · 132d
Try turning off your norton.
MistressRemilia@lemmy.sdf.org · 5 pts · 132d
Is there a Slackware package for that?
qrstuv@lemmy.sdf.org · 5 pts · 132d
That's not on the official supported list, so I don't know what that is and can't assist you further.
pieguy@lemmy.sdf.org · 3 pts · 132d
As chief Funhole moderator, does that make you the president of F.U.C.C. or are you considered to be in a management role?
pmjv@lemmy.sdf.org · 2 pts · 132d
director
notptr@lemmy.sdf.org · 8 pts · 133d
yeah it was down for me.
pmjv@lemmy.sdf.org · 1 pts · 133d
:-(
notptr@lemmy.sdf.org · 3 pts · 133d
image uploading seems broken at the moment
pmjv@lemmy.sdf.org · 2 pts · 133d
yeah, so is federation. maybe it just needs to catch up.
notptr@lemmy.sdf.org · 2 pts · 133d
yeah
PM_ME_VINTAGE_30S@lemmy.sdf.org · 8 pts · 133d
I am taking crazy pills, but also we were down.
pmjv@lemmy.sdf.org · 3 pts · 133d
far out, man
MistressRemilia@lemmy.sdf.org · 6 pts · 132d
I really wish the admins would actually use Lemmy themselves, even if it's just a tab they check every few days in their browser to make sure it's not dead or hasn't stopped federating. Feels subpar.
pmjv@lemmy.sdf.org · 4 pts · 132d
should someone volunteer to report the image issue? :')
user224@lemmy.sdf.org · 3 pts · 132d
At this point I feel too guilty to even mention it when Lemmy has issues, as it is frequent. I just wait and see what happens.
MistressRemilia@lemmy.sdf.org · 3 pts · 132d
I already did.
pmjv@lemmy.sdf.org · 3 pts · 132d
thank you!
dis_honestfamiliar@lemmy.sdf.org · 5 pts · 132d
Was giving me errors the entire weekend. Also what's Bboard?
pieguy@lemmy.sdf.org · 8 pts · 132d
BBOARD is the bulletin board system accessible when you SSH in to the "real" SDF
CanadaPlus@lemmy.sdf.org · 5 pts · 133d
It looks like federation is still catching up, too.
lambalicious@lemmy.sdf.org · 3 pts · 132d
Any means to check on progress? I'm interested in seeing if it'll catch up on a weekly thread I usually participate on before the week of the thread ends.

I just sort all subscribed communities by new.
pmjv@lemmy.sdf.org · 2 pts · 132d
You can go to All/New and see if there are any posts made by users from foreign instances (and when they were made).
alternatively you can try to open one of our local comunities through a foreign instance and see if the local recent posts show up.

The xmpp server also seems to be out of date. Conversations can't connect to it.
greyscale@lemmy.grey.ooo · 4 pts · 132d
It was out long enough for me to create my own lemmy instance in frustration.
qrstuv@lemmy.sdf.org · 2 pts · 131d
I made two instances.
pmjv@lemmy.sdf.org · 2 pts · 131d
prove it

You don't get to know.

Don't fret, qrstuv still has yet to prove that this video has bees.

You gotta moisturize.
goferking0@lemmy.sdf.org · 4 pts · 133d
And based on current feed, it's been out of sync for a while since world so far behind 🙃
6jarjar6@lemmy.sdf.org · 3 pts · 133d
How much storage do I need to run my own Lemmy server at home?
ThorrJo@lemmy.sdf.org · 2 pts · 132d
I dunno but I'm fixin' to find out. currently provisioning a couple Proxmox hosts.
although... I might choose Piefed.
goferking0@lemmy.sdf.org · 2 pts · 133d
No idea, and can't see recommendations in their install guidelines.

Gaslighting is a huge red flag.
pmjv@lemmy.sdf.org · 2 pts · 133d
but.. why?
qrstuv@lemmy.sdf.org · 2 pts · 133d
Because it means an abusive relationship.
pmjv@lemmy.sdf.org · 7 pts · 133d
sdf hates us?
qrstuv@lemmy.sdf.org · 5 pts · 133d
Probably. You need to stop lying to membership about the server being down.

I was getting certificate errors for a few days, up to as recently as a few hours ago. Seems to be working now (obviously).

except for all the pictures, I guess
