Interview in 15.

Wish me luck!

I do wish I could take some time to properly recover from the health stuff but the bills need to be paid.

Edit: made the short list!!!!!!

Apartment below me is doing renos blegh. So loud when it echoes up the alleyway oof. Also hear the weeping of one of th residents next door (assisted living building), I hope she is okay.

::: spoiler tw abuse I spent yesterday with my Dad. He travelled all the way from the East to me, braving the replacement busses. We had a delicious lunch at a local cafe and I updated him on how I'm going. I finally told him what my mum said to me, that has coloured all my experiences since I was 14. And he said it was unforgivable. We commiserated about how we were victims of her abuse, and he said that it's okay if people don't understand because he understands.

It was cathartic, exactly what the small scared child in me needed.

I messaged my cousin (mums niece) on Facebook , and told her I what Pop did to me. She can do what she wants with that information, as she is a mum to two kids. I don't expect anything from her or to believe me, but I felt I needed to say something (something I wish someone had done for me). :::

I'm feeling scared, but more confident that I can be okay and eventually even happy.

Eagle@aussie.zone · 8 pts · 160d (2 replies)

It can be so hard to be honest about things like that, we get trapped in the idea that it happened because there is something wrong with us and we allow our abusers to control how we think and feel about ourselves. People who genuinely love us will always understand, and there is nothing wrong with us, only what was done to us. โค๏ธ

StudChud@aussie.zone · 6 pts · 160d

It absolutely gave me a complex about my worth as a human. But hearing dad's side, and his experiences, it helped so much to hear him say he did want me and he has no regrets about me coming into being. I am wanted and loved. It'll take time to incorporate that into my brain properly.

Thank you for your kind words and care ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ this community has helped so much

StudChud@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 160d

Thank you, I'm glad too. It scared me to ask if we could catch up, but honestly it helped so so much.

Apcos selling a hot cross bun cut in half with coleslaw, pickles and a dim sim inbetween, worst news of 2026?

Oh god, I rode through a park this morning to avoid where I got hit by the car and the dew on the long grass immediately soaked through to my feet. And I had to ride through the grass for such a long stretch to get to a gap in the fence to go back on the road again.

If anyone can actually get Whittlesea city council to mow their lawns in a reasonable timeframe I am begging you to do so with the recent drop in temperature

CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 160d (1 reply)

Yeah. He had help for sure and they will find out who that was.

Thornburywitch@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 160d

And that person or people will be marked out and under suspicion for the rest of their lives. I hope for their sake that they have a clean record and nothing outstanding against the law.

Alamutjones@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 160d

He knew that ground exceptionally well. He would have known where he could go

Thornburywitch@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 160d (1 reply)

Fairly inevitable when they found him. Coppers really really don't like it when people shoot fellow coppers.

I've been working on updating my budget so that I'm tracking a lot of things in my spreadsheet that I was using multiple bank accounts for previously. It will make it easy to change over to a home loan with a single offset account in future and should also make it easier to provide the bank details when I apply.

I've been trying to make things as automated as possible so that I don't fall behind on tracking and can still see the balances of the different savings categories easily. I'm most of the way there, and have also been able to simplify a few areas that were getting a bit out of control - it's amazing how chaotic a spreadsheet can get when you keep tacking new things on here and there.

It is frustrating how many places still make changing direct debits difficult. My main credit card it looks like I have to cancel the debit and start again with a new one which isn't too bad, but BankWest still make you send in a paper form.

Iโ€™m being downvoted for posting frugal tipsโ€ฆ in the frugal instance. Alrighty then.

(Probably the clickbait headline but I seem to remember some rule about editorialising headlines. And I put a TL;DR:)

StudChud@aussie.zone · 6 pts · 159d (2 replies)

Eh try not to worry about it. There's bots and just idiot Americans and Aussie cookers on here sadly, and they'll downvote everything that goes against their ideology.

The points mean nothing

Mr Trouble has had his April spot on a bit early and is frequenting my back yard again. Yesss. Yesss. This makes it much safer and easier if he has a medical emergency/gets injured and needs to be trapped.

Edit: Heโ€™s grumpy about me applying the antifungal cream and just kept sulkily walking away from me and pulling his leg back. He doesnโ€™t want it. But if Iโ€™m letting him in I better start trying to treat.

I found spray cans of carpet sanitizerโ€ฆ hope I donโ€™t choke on the perfume.

::: spoiler spoiler It feels like Melbcat has just stepped out for a minute but I know thatโ€™s not true. I am breaking up inside about my girlie. I hate that sheโ€™s now no longer the focus :::

It's meant to be warmer tomorrow but i might try my boots on the bike. I got these boots from Rivers but they all turned out to be duds. Weird sizing and they must be for a super narrow foot because they hug my feet in all the wrong places. Plus they're super heavy with a tread so hard it doesn't seem to grip anything.

But they are meant to be waterproof
