Saw this on HN earlier today. I understand the author may have a sensory condition, but the purchase of a form-fitting protective cover to achieve the same goal should have been considered. I can confirm they are an option. I have purchased three (M1 MBP, M3 MBA & M4 MBA) for the purpose of protection but did notice the smoother edges.

Also there are many keyboards, small form factor included, that would obviate the need to modify the computer.

They may have considered it and just decided against it.

I hate the sharp edge, AND it's still a hair too high for me to use comfortably without wrist support. I wouldn't want it raised even a mm because then I'd need to drag around wrist support wherever I take the machine which makes it less portable.
