It's very interesting, since the shroud was always taken as fake, except by Roman Catholics maybe, but these new studies do present a case for authenticity

All this study says it that it may have been wrapped around a dead guy. Europe is full of bullshit religious artifacts, every church has a finger of John the Baptist.

Even Roman Catholics have denounced it as fake before modern science. The Church still doesn't hold any position on it, early on they just saw it's value as an art piece and the slight chance/story behind it.
