This is quite possibly the most confusing development of the AI bubble thus far.

I thought this was an Onion story when I saw the first headline.

Like many other DTC brands it's merely a vehicle to relieve venture capitalists of their money. If you consider that's the main goal (not making sustainable footwear) then the move makes more sense.
