IF by "solve the labor equation" you mean remove employment from existing for humans, it's certainly a step in the "right" direction..

Years ago, when I believed that all non-knowledge-worker work ought be automated-away, I read the words of someone of India, who pointed-out that people who either can't, or don't want, higher level of work, have to have work at their level.

& then I began realizing the chauvanism in my attitude..

Some people are wired for doing that kind of work, doing it well, & it helps them work on something in their unconscious-mind's meaning.

Now I understand that there is a whole category of meaning that has zero to do with knowledge-work, that only is reachable through honest physicality ( did a few years of part-time construction work ).

What a healthy economy has, is a complete diversity of kinds of work, & let people have what's good for them, right now ( people change ).

Automating-away all the categories of work possible .. makes humans become .. incapable of autonomy?

& the consequence of that will be slavery, as the concentration-of-wealth-archy progression heads towards its endstate.

That isn't strategy.

Yes, such can work, & work well, but the whole business of looking at the overall-situation, with greater & greater unemployment, heading towards a police-state, & rapidly-increasing homelessness .. lots of people seem to be solving the wrong problems, & creating a paradigm-shift that makes everything worse.
