Obviously anti palantir and anti military here but my understanding of the federal tax system and how spending works is they actually fund all this stuff before taxes come in, having a sovereign currency and central bank has vastly changed the structure of taxation on the federal level(unlike local propertytaxes for examplewhich function in the traditional way ), this is a MMT take but it makes sense to me
But to defuse the paranoia a little, they said the same about the most recent, disturbingly powerful, global PMC: G4S. Not much actually happened yet as a result of G4S power. Which, as it turns out, also uses Palantir systems.

Basically there is always money for war because they can spend whatever they want

Yeah the state will print endless money for its primary purposes: violent control, theft, enforcement of capitalism, genocide, etc. Thus, Palantir.
On the other hand, the state will ferociously attack any money meant to improve and liberate our lives, since this is a direct threat to capitalism.

Eagle Eye is when AI is used to automate control of military assets.
Like the possibility of erasing somebody with a fucking Hellfire missile from a Predator drone... on US soil.

so Tax Evaders are saints now ?
technocrit@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 0 pts · 144d
People who believe that taxes can be "fair" are the saints... By which I mean delusional and holier-than-thou.
technocrit@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 3 pts · 144d
True, but the state has always oppressed its citizens. It doesn't even need taxes to do it. That's just extra control and punishment for the poor.

And that's just America.

Do you really think they're going to tell you that they're spying on you?

And what does it have to do with AI?
amino@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 13 pts · 145d
the AI bubble is being propped up so Palantir, an AI company, together with other world governments can build police surveillance states
