Self-improvement is stuck in caveman mode. We need fewer ice baths and more digital tools.

I’ve been thinking a lot about how self-improvement online is stuck in this weird alpha male aesthetic.
Cold showers, waking up at 5 AM, dopamine detox, monk mode, lift heavy, stare at the sun, discipline harder, raw liver, no phone, NO FUN.

It's either this or entrepreneur grindset advice.

I’ve been deep into self-improvement for a few years now.
Fixing the boring structural problems in my life, building routines that actually stick, reducing chaos, and using technology to automate the stuff that drains my attention and to offload cognition.

In contrast to all the self-help guru advice, I focused a lot on digital systems, automation and using technology
instead of going to the gym and taking ice baths.

Most people don’t fail because they don’t torture themselves enough. They fail because their life is disorganized, full of friction, badly structured, and mentally overloaded. The problem isn’t "not enough discomfort." The problem is no systems.

My own approach to self-improvement embraces screen time and technology as long as it is used correctly.

And to make it not boring I merged self-improvement with shitposting and memes and made my whole online Persona about it.

I’ve been posting concept breakdowns and longer videos on YouTube under the name ToasterBotnet. It’s basically self-improvement for people who are online too much, mixing practical tools with a bit of humor and tech-nerd energy. Definitely not polished guru stuff.

If anyone here is into systems, habits, productivity experiments, or automating everyday life, you might find it interesting.

I’m mostly looking for honest feedback on whether the content is actually useful or if I’m missing the mark somewhere.

The alpha male thing is bullshit, but paying attention to your physical needs and wellbeing is not. I think automation has brings a possibility of reducing the attention we pay to the physical aspects of life

That's true and if I'm being honest, getting fit is the hardest part of Self-improvement for me. Still trying though. But Injust think there's more to it than just the physical fitness and it is underrepresented
