No, you cannot buy your own auctions, but depending on what servers your chars are, you can mail stuff, even cross faction.
Check this: https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/14296, all servers that are listed as connected act as they were the same server, I have alliance chars on one server and horde on a different one, but they're connected and I can freely mail gold and stuff between them.

Apparently not, but every other restriction still stands (trade, party, mail, guild)
