I used to commute via skyway in St Paul. Most of the downtown retail you would expect on the ground floor is on the second floor, and targeted at pedestrians who don't want to go out in the snow. I think it's the only commute I've truly enjoyed, just long enough and stimulating enough to clear my head.

cars are a scourge on our well-being, driving one makes me unhappy.
also quick shout-out to bicycles, while it's not as relaxing as a train ride, some quick exercise is so much better for mental health than a car drive.
