Electric vehicle sales in Latin America, Africa and much of Asia — a grouping that includes billions of people but that analysts often refer to as “rest of world” — soared 79 percent in March compared with a year earlier, according to Benchmark Mineral Intelligence, a research firm.

That rate of growth is astonishing. Many of these countries are now adopting electric driving much faster than "the west".

"The West" is a pretty bad category in this case. Germany had 66%, France 69% and Italy 72% growth in EV sales in the same period. The US saw a decline in sales though and from what was already a lower base.

Let us hope we don't end up with a Reform govt. in the UK. That would be disasterous for EV adoption in the UK

Being convinced to prefer a worse option to save egos and tribalism seems to me like something only the privileged can afford.
