New to Lemmy. Had a child at 17.

Hi. I never used Reddit because I thought it didn't align enough with my values and I heard about their censorship (or perhaps lack thereof.)

My husband (FtM) and I had a daughter at 17. We got married at 18 due to the pregnancy and love each other even as 22-year-olds.

Congrats! My wife and I met and moved in together at 20 and have been together for 32 years. Love, understanding, and a fuck ton of patience with each other is key.

Is the area you live in trans friendly?

I'm an old dad at 40 and I always feel a little out of place in parenting spaces, how was it from the other side?

As you get older how do you feel being such a young parent affects your child (if at all)?

I think about being an old parent a lot and I'm curious what you think of being a young parent. I hope y'all are doing great, welcome to lemmy!

Well, we had to balance high school (senior year) and taking care of her. Our parents mostly raised her when we couldn't, but since we graduated, my husband moved in with our supportive family until we can buy a house.

Your husbands trans? Must have been pretty difficult to get pregnant

I mean... They didn't state who was the pregnant person in the relationship.

I personally assume a pregnancy would get a FtM trans very gender dysphoric.

I'm cis male, I got him pregnant by the way

Also he is planning to transition physically soon but he was a woman when we had our daughter.
