Old people hoarding wealth and some of them being in positions of power not just Trump got us here

Grandparents watching their family slide into poverty while they live on their granddads grown generational wealth while voting for policies that further the wealth gap is just one example of this

I knew when he ran on affordability that Republicans were going to sweep the elections in 2024. I wholly expected them to do nothing to actually enact any of the policies they said they supported, but it makes me bitter watching one party run on affordability in full knowledge that they'll make people poorer while the other party insists, stupidly, that if they run on affordability they won't be able to win.

Our ruling parties and election system work so well for the right. It sickens me.

K-shaped economy, K-shaped "recovery". Those who were solidly middle-class to upper middle-class or above are doing quite well, in fact, many at the top are doing far better than ever. Everybody else, though? Not so much.
