Dang, you might not. These grackles are in the Icteridae family, new world blackbirds. Here's another cool one, the red-winged blackbird.
Obviously you're not in the new world, but you do have a common blackbird, which is in the thrush (Turdidae) family. We have a bird that's kind of a misnomer to your robin, the American robin, a thrush, 🤣

You did an excellent job capturing their color. At a glance they look solid black, but when you look closely at pictures, you see the subtle colors and iridescence.

An individual grackle can be quite pretty. Especially the males with the irredescent black coats.
A group of grackles on the other hand is a fucking loud annoying mobile shit producing cloud. Areas actually have to fire off canon blanks to get them to move as a flock can contain hundreds to a thousand, all squawking and shitting everywhere. Little fuckers…. okay, done ranting.

Nice! I've got grackles in my yard. "Common" grackle, my ass. They're so pretty. But it's hard to capture the way their feathers change colors so much.
