reaper is excellent for "regular" music recording, etc. but it lacks a bit if you're into making beats, edm, electro,... then you might wanna look into bitwig, which is basically ableton-like but different and it runs natively on linux (and win & mac).
there's also ardour and a few others that are open source or at least free.
und meist sind die völlig beliebig gewählt; ein paar tage oder wochen später würd' keinen unterschied machen.
super nervig ist auch, wenn man sein leben liegen lässt um irgendwie die deadline zu schaffen und dann kriegt man mit wie der kunde/empfänger/auftraggeber/o.ä., der so gestresst hat, einfach erstmal ewig nix damit macht 😠

i developed my first app and ran into the same problem.
then i went to fiver to hire someone to test. there were lots of offers to help with this exact problem.
but then, when i wanted to lookup some information he needed i noticed, that my app was already approved and available in the play store.
i had to ask the guy for a refund and he grumpily refunded ^^
i definitely had the requirement notifications in the console. but those also suddenly disappeared.
maybe because my dev account was already a few years old, although i never actually used it before.

there are whole distros with audio focus: ubuntu studio & fedora jam and probably others.
maybe check what they come packaged with. not sure if it's all open source though.
"eww" is not a common sound of disgust/dislike/... in non-english languages.
