It looks cheap and as if it’s designed for super low end hardware that can’t handle blur effects. I can’t wait for the Android integration features to get poached and put into Linux though.

Yeah I mean it's supposed to be a replacement for ChromeOS, so no surprise it's designed for low-end systems.

Why does the macbook look like android? I don't get it. Anyway, its ugly

Well, for one, it's not a Macbook. They're calling it a "Googlebook" (because Pixelbook was already taken by a dead project of Google), and they say it will have seamless integration with Android devices. It's that "Aluminium OS" that was leaked a while ago. I feel like it's interesting, but probably not for me.

I have never heard of it, therefore it doesn't exist. Also, its ugly.

Dude no it's not

But just because the UI "is ugly" doesn't mean the product does not / should not exist. There are plenty of good reasons to hate on this Googlebook. For one, LLMs and AI-gen images are featured heavily, which nobody really asked for. But "ugly so no exist" isn't a very convincing argument, and design is subjective. I personally think Material You looks fine, but perhaps it does look a bit out of place in a desktop environment though.

At least you corrected it's vs its
