By the way, the technology of tram tracks and tiny wheels has existed for more than 100 years. I wonder if early trams were ever abused like that.

Always wanted to do this. I grew up in a town with a seasonal trolley, nicely flat tracks were unused in the colder months. Would have been perfect, but tricky to get the wheels just right to avoid derailment
