Yes, but they use their own standards, not the ones set by the WHO which are more in line with the science behind the health effects of pm2.5. The safe levels according to the government aren't that safe.
Eventually the plasticisers will break down and the tire will start falling apart leaving plastic dust every where; best for that to happen in a landfill imo.
Tires can't really be recycled and usually end up being burned for energy, releasing toxins and CO^2^ into the atmosphere, much like how most plastics aren't actually recycled either. In my province (BC), they have recycling programs but those also release toxins, just at a slower rate while in the close proximity of children (rubber surfaces in playgrounds).
Indeed; however, it is likely because of christianity that these myths aren't challenged and also likely what caused this greentext... if it's not fake and/or gay.
These AQI forecasts are adhering to the World Health Organizations standard which more heavily weighs levels of PM2.5 (Canada apparently doesn't at all) which can't be seen or really noticed in anyway except by those who are really young, old or are already suffer from respiratory disease.
PM2.5 is particulate matter that is smaller than 2.5 microns; so, anything smaller than most bacteria and mould spores which can't be seen by humans as that is ~20 times smaller than a hair. Because it's so small, it can reach very far into lung tissues and in some cases even breach cell walls. When levels are this high there is almost certainly damage being done on a cellular level if one isn't wearing proper protection and this greatly increases chances for disease such as cancer.
I don't know why none of the news services report this, likely because they don't know and the government doesn't report it either. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I seen an absolutely gorgeous sunset behind a superstore (canadian walmart) in an area that was about to be completely bulldozed to create more suburbs. No one will be able to see that again. Only dumpsters, fences and asphalt.
I think that would certainly add (a lot of) noise to the data, but seeing as there's still a net drop in windows, it's still a good month for linux. Sucks that they can only use http requests. :(
I feel you. Like you're trapped with no way out. Kind of like a conveyor belt slowly moving everything towards a wall. Many people feel that way too and they organize with others to fight against the injustice, against the horror. Find those people, wherever you are, and help them, however you can.
I recall this was done purposefully in... Wisconson? to help rejuvinate a failing creek bed. The engineers installed pseudo-beaver dams that would only last a season or two so beavers would see these and be all like "What the fuck is this shit?" and fix them up and start living there.
*sigh unzips
Everyone get in the pile.

Please accept a small handful of dry roasted peanuts as tribute.
Wow, so that means we can offer this vaccine to everyone, not only "high-risk groups" right?
...Right?
