National pride is idiotic. Where you were born is just what happened. You had no say in or control over the matter. You are proud of something that happened that you had absolutely no hand in. Idiotic.
The pride bit isn't about being queer full stop, it's about having the courage to be openly queer in a society that might try to kill you for it. It's about reversing the shame they attempt to force on us.
It's a little bit different if you're getting attacked all the time (as what usually happens to LBGTQ+ people). I think pride in a nation or a group of people that you belong to is fine as long as you are fighting for something greater. For example the people of Ukraine coming together nationally to fight off a foreign invader
Well, pride is one of the 7 deadly sins, so I guess everyone should tone that shit down. I’m not religious, but I see where that is coming from and I agree.
When does the quote say you cant be proud of multiple things? Just that national pride is the cheapest form of pride and pointing out that people should have more than just national pride that drives them.
The cheapest sort of pride is pride for your children; for if a man is proud of his own children, it argues that he has no qualities of his own of which he can be proud; otherwise he would not have recourse to those which he shares with so many members of his family.
Raising a kid is still more active than being born in a place. Being proud that a child emulates positive behaviors that you taught is something to be proud of.

Could say the same thing about LGBT+ pride, that's also something that happened to you

I haven't heard any parents disown, kick out or even kill their child for being of a different nation, but theres plenty who have for being LGBT+.

There's also left wing nationalism, such as Catalunya and Scotland, and also liberation movements.
They are very different than right wing nationalism though.

What if you're from a small country like Tuvalu or Vatican. Then you don't have so many fellowmen and your pride is all the more worthy.

Imagine not understanding that you can be proud of several things at once.
What a looser.
