New 🔥 double empathy paper just dropped

From everything I've seen online, "Attraction Through Similarity in Autistic Traits: A Group Communication Study Using the Social Relations Model and Functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy Hyperscanning" is fire. Does anyone have access to the PDF through their institution who would be willing to share? It's not on Sci-Hub yet.

Kinda reminds me of how I felt with a one friend when someone was observing us in our natural habitat (ie: just hanging out during break away from most others and dropping the masking) and wondering how they saw our interactions?

Seeing this did make me wonder if maybe they were an egg too, so I went snooping on their facebook profile which hasn't been really updated much in a couple years. There was one person wishing them a happy birthday and used a female name for them (while everyone else used the name I'm familiar with)? o.O

Why is scientific research paywalled? That shit pissed me off when I was in school.

Edit: Just wanted to add that people are so goddamn stupid partially because they have free unlimited access to propaganda, rage-bait, and fake news on social media while real news and scientific papers are behind a paywall. Let people read, people are too stupid and need to read.

I'm pretty sure that is a different paper.

I mean, when you're used to having to pretend to not be yourself in order to attract someone, not having to do that is obviously pretty appealing. I haven't dated a neurotypical person in a long time. I refuse to waste all of my energy masking that much anymore.

Don't need no fancy-shmancy autism detector. I can usually just tell.

WalrusDragonOnABike@reddthat.com · 3 pts · 93d

I can probably tell eventually, but I think immediately knowing depends either on obvious tells or having compatible autism traits.

Write to the author, many are happy to share their work. The fees paid to the publisher generally don't go to the author anyway.

Why not just host it here?

Edit: meant post not host. Sorry all.
