For every single benefit the government offers to the common people, beginning from the ration to the dole to anything, the government ask for your biometric data. What is the reason behind such a rule ?
Why would the Government of India require the biometric data for every single benefit being given to the people ?

That's a blurb about what biometric can be, but biometrics can also just be your finger prints or facial recognition for ID purposes.
For my BC services card and Digital ID they have my face image and short movie to ID me if I lose my phone, and have to reapply for the Digital ID.

Because biometric data by the wrong company, or a leak can be dangerous, I tend to agree. But I think it is important for government services so that there is no abuse or double dipping, or sharing an ID card with a non citizen etc.
