Ben gvir is a terrorist according to israel. He was banned from becoming a lawyer for a long time because he was a known terrorist. There's a very real chance he was involved in the assassination of yitzak rabin, which perminantly ended the peace process and basically ended the israeli left as a force in politics.

Reminder that Rabin, the 'left' of Israeli politics, was also a fascist and supported ethnic cleansing; including, but not limited to, breaking the bones of Palestinian children. Zionism has always been a fascist ideology centered on the forced removal of the native Palestinians.

A quirky side note, he's known as Ben Gevær in Norway - "gevær" meaning "rifle".

I kind of feel that is too cool of a nickname to be derogatory.

If killing people is cool - I guess. But maybe it's a cultural thing.
HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 93d
rifles aren't just used for killing people but your point is taken
zeroConnection@programming.dev · 10 pts · 93d
Wow, that will surely make a difference. Fucking politicians only care about optics... How about you sanction Israel for their war crimes?
HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 93d
i mean i get your point (it is a good and valid one) but politics is in large part the use of optics to make citizens do the real things.

Surprised France has a spine w.r.t Israel seeing as how they are fast-tracking anti-palestine action laws (something not enough ppl are talking about)
