Finkelstein was born in New York City to Jewish Holocaust-survivor parents. He is a graduate of Binghamton University and received his Ph.D. in political science from Princeton University. He has held faculty positions at Brooklyn College, Rutgers University, Hunter College, New York University, and DePaul University, where he was an assistant professor from 2001 to 2007.

Finkelstein rose to prominence in 2000 after publishing The Holocaust Industry, a book in which he writes that the memory of the Holocaust is exploited as an ideological weapon to provide Israel a degree of immunity from criticism.

Great analysis, keep it up!

Democratic socialist candidates are anti-genocide, unlike the cookie cutter corporate Dem candidates

The momentum of candidates like Adbul-al Sayid, Adam Hamawey, Darializa, Claire Valdez, and Francesca Hong should not be underestimated

DSA candidates are beholden to the demands of the working class, not the Democratic or Republican party nor capitalist donations.

Additionally, electing candidates to deliver material gains is only a single aspect of DSA. Along with mutual aid, labor organizing, and International solidarity campaigns to name a few.

In 2025, over 250 DSA members held elected public office across 40 states, with 90% elected after 2019.

Scoreboard.

DSA has gotten hundreds of socialists in positions of power to represent the working class. Please, share what power you've been able to acquire.

That's why her voting record on Palestine is a B instead of an A, and that's a rightful criticism many of her allies made immediately. And why she backtracked on that position. There's a difference between critisizing allies and casting them aside as if they're no different than the actual Zionists in power. But the people serious about change are the ones organizing their communities to acquire power. Online posters never have and never will any any motion when it comes to creating real change.

The ones who are serious are the ones building DSA instead of being an irrelevant chronic online poster
