Banned from HistoryMemes for history

Post link: https://thelemmy.club/post/51994470

Which mods/admins were being Power Tripping Bastards?

Not sure, can't see on Thunder app

What sanction did they impose (e.g. community ban, instance ban, removed comment)?

Community ban, removed comment

Explain why you think its unfair and how you would like the situation to be remedied.

I think it's kinda crazy to censor history in a history comm, meme or not. Especially when it's well documented

Just thought it was wacky enough mod behavior to share, if the comm is like that I'd rather stay banned

https://blowback.show/S4-Sources is the link I shared. All papers of record, historians, and offical statements about Afghanistan involvement since the 70's. It's not like Charlie Wilson or his ilk kept quite about it, shit they celebrated it

Knowing who moderates that com, you probably just annoyed them by having 'stalin' in your name.

I don't block anyone or anything as a rule, but I avoid interacting with them or their communities to skip the headache.

Easy PTB. It's dumb to ban ideologies instead of behavior for this exact reason. Just repeating a fact that tankies like to repeat does not prove you are a tankie.

Power trips aside, holy hell does that OP sleep? On average they've made a post about every 24 minutes since joining a month ago!

Edit: oh it's an unmarked bot

PTB. Yeah, you're not allowed to question the official American Neoliberal narrative if establishment democrats haven't questioned it on certain subs run by specific individuals. I recommend just blocking that mod. There's only one there. Your lemmy experience just got 10,000% better, and you'd be doing them a favor as well since they are as fragile as they could ever possibly be.

Feels like reddit.

PTB from Pug as usual.

PTB, fugjesus doesn't like history books. E. g. readsettlers.org which he thinks is racist and a melodramatic screed...

Tbh you've been done a favor lol, history places online are usually hitlerite

Quill7513@slrpnk.net · 6 pts · 58d

Or buy into the lies of American Exceptionalism, Russification, or Chinese Exceptionalism (take your pick, but it will usually be the first in English speaking places)

in a history comm

Yeah, don't let the name fool you.

That moderator will get personal with you if you comment in spaces they visit, let alone ones they moderate. It's usually best not to engage them. They will not stop until they are the last comment.

Not sure if they banned you for "islamophobia" (i.e. basically don't criticize religion, the same sentiment "anti-Semitism" gets today w.r.t criticizing Israel) or if it's just "oh no the US could never!" that got you banned.

I’m not so sure you didn’t know who created & mods that comm nor how you’d be treated just for having “Stalin” in your username. Please don’t troll and then post here when the inevitable happens.

Keeponstalin@lemmy.world · 9 pts · 58d (1 reply)

I'm sorry but no, I didn't do any of those things. I saw a comment I agreed with, and added context I knew about. I don't get how that's trolling, but if it is then no, that was not the intent. I didn't even think it was controversial, it's been well known and portrayed positively for decades in media

Okay. I’d assumed you’d be familiar with Lemmy’s resident “History Major” and “Vaguely Left-Wing” scratched liberal, who also moderates !meanwhileongrad@sh.itjust.works.

Unsurprising sentiment from the chief of the thought police over here.
