Every god is made in the originating culture's likeness, c'mon. They're all made up, and designed to soothe the local populace —which doesn't go so well when you're pitching Us v Them and your icons look nothing like said "Us" group. Pretty elementary.
late edit: let's not forget that Buddhism's "appropriation" by ancient China is literally detailed in Sun Wukong's classic origin story "A Journey to the West", ffs. "Plagiarism" has been an essential tool for every religion since its invention, so what's a little creative license? /s
This explanation is like saying the 3 pope debacle was just a normal aspect of contemporaneous religion. I mean, you’re right but are you really not laughing at the situation?
Then you’d have to be miserable at all times in the company of anyone capable of quoting nearly any media. And this isn’t an indictment of what you wrote or what you believe, but a realization about why I find it funny

It’s still so funny to me that they’re always white. It’s even better when they give them fucking Hapsburg jawlines.

If they are linking European/white art you will get European/white art.

Sorry, I have trouble finding humor in the millennias-long brainwashing of entire populations by secret pedos & various predators. 😅🫢
