DOJ’s Truth Social-inspired filing lists out ‘Top Secret’ additions to sprawling project after gunman opens fire near checkpoint
Donald Trump’s Department of Justice says a recent shooting near the White House underscores the “critical need” for the president’s $400 million ballroom project as government lawyers demand a federal judge lift an order blocking its construction.
Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche sprinted to federal court one day after a gunman opened fire near a security checkpoint and struck a bystander. The suspect, 21-year-old Nasire Best, was fatally shot by Secret Service officers.
Trump was inside the White House at the time and unharmed, but the proposed ballroom would provide a “SAFE HAVEN” from would-be attackers in the future, according to Sunday night’s Truth Social-inspired filing from the Justice Department.

Someone was shot in my street the other day. Can I get a ballroom too?

The white house is built on a steel frame. The wood is a facade. The mansion is surrounded by fences and the secret service. The mansion sits in the middle of 18 acres of land, surrounded by other buildings. The basement is 2 stories.
But sure, only a ballroom will keep the president safe.

Not to mention that the security checkpoint worked, invalidating the entire argument.

I just had an idea for a totally fictitious short story about a president who keeps pressing hard for new ballroom, but it's actually just a ruse for a new state-of-the-art top secret bunker that is being built underneath it. Anyways, this absolutely fictional president needs this ballroom/bunker because they're not planning on leaving office after their second term, and their plan is to wait out the impending civil war from there. This could be a fun story to write, but I'm a little worried that it's too far-fetched.

So a Civil War prequel?
TBi@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 116d
They probably learned from the ending of that movie that they need a safer bunker.

Sounds like the plot from an episode of Stargate (season 4 episode 2)

Seems to me that this demonstrates that the checkpoints are working really well.

Exactly. Dude didn't even get to the same floor as Trump.

We need all the ppl who voted for him to die too. They’ll just vote in another (child) fucker.
Sanctus@anarchist.nexus · 24 pts · 116d
And there will be more and more until there is a ballroom.

Maybe one of these fake assassins will accidentally hit him, and we'll finally be free from seeing his ugly-ass face anymore.
FenrirIII@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 116d
We don't want violence as that will make him a martyr. I want a full stroke that makes him incapable of speech or moving. I want him trapped in his own body lying in filth because no one cares about him or is willing to even roll his fat ass over. I want him to spend years rotting in front of a TV watching his narcissist legacy be dismantled and his name disappear from everything but jokes.
OwOarchist@pawb.social · 3 pts · 115d
Well, sure, that would be ideal.
But at this point, I'll take whatever I can get.
kbobabob@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 14 pts · 116d
I'd say it's a good argument that they don't need it.
dan69@lemmy.world · 13 pts · 116d
So does this imply that all schools (in USA) need a ballroom too?

Who knew a dance hall would be strategic to presidential (and NATIONAL!) security

As the biggest supporters of the second amendment, shouldn't the regime embrace these gun toting constituents? Sounds like they are not welcoming to those bearing arms in the people's house.

If only there had been a ball room. Better build two, you know, just in case.

One is just as a decoy.
TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 116d
One room for each ball.
Unless you're Trump. Then you only need one room.
NatakuNox@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 116d
He does realize the next president could just demolishe his stupid ballroom.

Any excuse to get what they want. I hope ppl are playing attention and getting better at noticing this behavior in the people in their own lives.

This reminds me of that one bit from Dark Knight Rises where its revealed that Bane and his crew (disguised as construction workers) have been pouring cement laced with explosives all over the extremely corrupt city of Gotham. I'm not saying anyone needs to go that far... maybe just one specific address or something haha lol jk... unless 👀
tacoplease@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 115d
Oh dear, did the wind blow in the wrong direction so you need a ballroom now?
