True but people found workarounds. I have had no issues after the initial wave of the issue.
If I remember correctly, they are not naming the file to the specific show or movie anymore.

Dunno if all the described changes have gone wide yet, but I've not had an ad on my Roku since I set up my pi hole. https://pi-hole.net/
IIRC I hid/disabled the recommendations row through the Roku settings.

Wait what? I tried a fire stick a few years ago and it was plastered with ads worse than anything. Even with the pfblocker ad blocker that kept the Roku clean.
