Real name: Samuel Clemens

Mark Twain was his penname

True but most people will only recognize his pen name

Is that like, Dublin, California, USA or some other Dublin?

Because Dublin, California sure doesn't look like that any more.

Dublin is the name of the cat.

That makes a lot more sense.

I think dublin refers to his cat.

So it seems that this was taken in Dublin, New Hampshire, and the pictured kitten might be named Sackcloth or it might be one of two that he named Ashes.

This raises a far larger question. Do 'rental' kittens get to keep their name, or do they get 're-badged' so new renters can pick their own name? 🤔

It's Dublin, New Hampshire

I wonder if this was taken during the coldest winter he experienced in San Francisco during the summer.

If this was accurately identified as 1906 then it would likely be his summer in New Hampshire
