Consensual? She was in her right mind? I don't see a problem here. Ride that demon to Hell, you beautiful b.

To die the way we want is a right.

woelkchen@lemmy.world · 33 pts · 71d

What if that was her wish when she was not in her right mind? Terminally I'll people have the right to live in the moment instead of being tied to the death bed.

other_cat@piefed.zip · 1 pts · 67d (1 reply)

I remember the last time this post made the rounds and I think it was uncertain whether she consented or not.

chris@lemmy.grey.fail · 2 pts · 65d

That's a different story, then. 😢

ramenshaman@lemmy.world · 91 pts · 71d (1 reply)

Fuck yeah 🤘 we should all be so lucky to have someone help us end on a high note.

Nusm@peachpie.theatl.social · 8 pts · 71d

On a HIGH note. I see what you did there…

rizzothesmall@sh.itjust.works · 81 pts · 71d

The crime was that the nursing home couldn't bill for that time

If he's not treated like a king in prison idk what's wrong with people

ByteJunk@lemmy.world · 40 pts · 71d (1 reply)

In prison? This man deserves a fucking statue, and that we do the same to him when it's his time to go, send him off with the party of his lifetime.

Meth is never blue, if that's the actual baggie then people are adding food coloring to meth to make it look like Breaking Bad lol

FlembleFabber@sh.itjust.works · 14 pts · 71d

True, but doesnt mean it never happens

Hozerkiller@lemmy.ca · 8 pts · 70d

I think there was an episode of attack of the show that brought up dealers were selling meth dyed blue because of the show and how you dont think of meth users as people who would care about the colour. If it was a different show I apologize.

Bit off-topic, but I find it fascinating that in most societies there is a right to live, but no right to die. Like I can't just walk into a pharmacy and buy something that kills me. I mean, sure, you could OD on stuff, but u can't buy something that is specifically made to kill u (as painless as possible).

UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world · 20 pts · 70d (2 replies)

in most societies there is a right to live

Is there? Seems like a pay-to-win system.

Like I can’t just walk into a pharmacy and buy something that kills me.

You absolutely can, it just won't be a fun way to go.

heartSagan5@lemmy.zip · 3 pts · 70d (1 reply)

Like over-ingesting an OTC, but then, before you die your body will ride you through purging and it may be 50/50 if you end or carry on?

UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world · -3 pts · 70d

Or just buy some bleach

MasterNerd@lemmy.zip · 6 pts · 70d (2 replies)

Given that those who want to end their lives are usually in a mentally unsound frame of mind, that may be for the best. I agree that there should be exceptions for those that suffer from chronic and lifelong conditions with no hope of improvement, however.

AnarchoEngineer@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 9 pts · 70d

People like/dislike different things. A life that may seem decent to you could be hell for someone else.

If you can justify euthanasia for those with pain you understand like chronic illness, then you should justify euthanasia even for those with pain you don't understand like being in perfect health but not wanting to be alive anymore.

I think there should be buffers in place like a waiting period and psychological evaluations to prevent rash actions by people who are simply bipolar or having an incredibly bad day etc.; however, the ultimate decision of whether one’s life is not worth living is a decision that can only rightfully be decided by that individual.

ironycanal@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 1 pts · 70d

Oh shit so we're willing to let people improve their lives now? Since when?

lemonSqueezy@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 68d

I mean, you need to give more context. Some people flip their fashion style overnight, what's to stop them from impulse buying the death pill after a breakup ?

seejur@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 70d

Well, if a person decides to live today, it can always re-evaluate tomorrow.

If a person decides to die today, it a one way ticket. No reimbursement

Once my memory starts to go, I want to be sat down in front of a (cooked) frozen pizza, outside if summer, and once I'm 3/4 done with the pizza, I want someone shoot me in the head from behind. (.22 is enough if not shot "straight", nothing fancy needed.)

No funeral, just burn me and dumb the remains into the river I grew up next to. Or heck, unmarked grave in the forest is okay too, don't know how shitty this world turns.

MeatPilot@sh.itjust.works · 17 pts · 71d (1 reply)

Do you want the pizza to be Tombstone® brand?

manuremy@sopuli.xyz · 7 pts · 71d

Lol, not sold in my country but that would be great :D

Sergio@piefed.social · 8 pts · 71d (1 reply)

There should be ONE slice of pineapple on the pizza, and once you're ready to go, you bite the pineapple.

Sign up for organ donation at least

manuremy@sopuli.xyz · 6 pts · 71d

In my country you gotta sign to get out of that! (Also, if I live so old my memory leaks, don't know if my organs are any good.)

When I die put my bones in an empty street
To remind me of how it used to be
Don't write my name on a stone
Bring a Coleman lantern and the radio
Cleveland game and two fishing poles
And watch with me from the shore
Ghostly steel and iron ore ships coming home

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CG6gpwYH1DM

Made me think of this. Apologies in advance. Now to find a distraction from the melancholy it always elicits.

I've said to my partner several times that as soon as I lose cognitive ability just to kill me.

No one needs that burden and I'd rather her get all my savings, rather than an old people's home

explodicle@sh.itjust.works · 7 pts · 70d

It won't happen all at once. There will be some last part of you that she won't want to lose.

Therumisgone@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 70d (1 reply)

How would she get an old people's home?

blimthepixie@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 2 pts · 70d

Ah fuck I missed some words
