However, it fits his anti-war and anti-capitalist sentiments and his often angry tone quite well, so it might be legit.
And just so we're clear: General Butler was NOT a conspirator in the plot. He was a supporter of FDR, and an outspoken critic of capitalists, and still the capitalists thought they could use him as a patsy to launch a coup against FDR. 🤦♂️
Butler exposed and testified against them.
He also led the 'Bonus Army' that marched on Washington to demand the promised pay due WWI veterans before Hoover sent the Army Cavalry to destroy their camps.
But those manicures were fine by poor immigrants who they will then blame for the country's problems and the poor and uneducated local people will use as part of their justification to join the military.
