"Why did I sign that contract..."

Absolute havoc.

Just wanted to see the first lap and Max buffed it.

LECLERC NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Coelacanth@feddit.nu · 7 pts · 72d
It's not a proper Monaco if Leclerc finishes. I know he got that one win but that was the exception.
Coelacanth@feddit.nu · 6 pts · 72d
George didn't serve his penalty, did he? Oh my lord
lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 72d
Merc dropped the ball with Russell. Don't know why they made him double stack if he wasn't going to serve the penalty.
hsr@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 3 pts · 72d
F1TV commentators mentioned he wasn't supposed to come in at that point

another 10s penalty right after a safety car?
Coelacanth@feddit.nu · 1 pts · 72d
Should be, but I'm not a rules expert
birne@feddit.org · 1 pts · 72d
According to Niels Wittich you are not allowed to serve the penalty when the safety car is driving through the pits.
Coelacanth@feddit.nu · 2 pts · 72d
Why did George get a penalty for failing to serve his penalty then?
BowtiesAreCool@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 71d
The first lap of safety car, before the safety car picked up the leader, the cars hadn’t been instructed to use the pit lane, this is where George pitted
lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 72d
Damn. Mega unlucky for Verstappen. Antonelli did well getting off the line.
False start investigation for Russell??? Nooooooo
Coelacanth@feddit.nu · 7 pts · 72d
Russel at the moment:
lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 72d
No further investigation phew. A drive through penalty like Perez would've been disastrous.
lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 72d
Red flag? What a bizarre Monaco GP.
Lindblad got really lucky. Free pitstop now and jump on the Williams.
Coelacanth@feddit.nu · 4 pts · 72d
Have we seen any racing? No. But fuck me, can't complain about the entertainment (even if half of it has been trying to figure out wtf is wrong with everyone's pit lane speed limiters).
lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 72d
Seeing all that asphalt on Stroll's tire and then Leclerc going off similarly, seems irresponsible to continue the race.
Although with all the looming penalties and investigations for positions 2-5 I'm intrigued to see what happens.
partial_accumen@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 72d
Was that asphalt on the tires? I thought I heard the announcers say "marbles", and I assumed its balls of soft rubber compound from tires that got sheared off during the race. If so, is this the result of new tire compound used this year that creates more debris on the track?
eta@feddit.org · 1 pts · 72d
Later they said that it's most likely the asphalt but I haven't heard that being confirmed anywhere
lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 72d
Leclerc contemplating that contract extension..
PrincessKadath@ani.social · 4 pts · 72d
Ouch for Max.
lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 72d
Everyone's getting noted for speeding in the pitlane. Bizarre. Are they sure it isn't some other technical issue?
BlackEco@lemmy.blackeco.com · 3 pts · 72d
So, how much of a procession this race will be?
Coelacanth@feddit.nu · 4 pts · 72d
The answer is probably "yes". We can hope the new regs save us, but I honestly doubt it.
Still, I got my thrill yesterday. That was a phenomenal qualy. And hell, we didn't get the typical chaos but F2 even had some last lap action and a final corner overtake.
And I'm fine with Monaco being what it is, somehow the pomp and ceremony and tradition works for me. And the track is just spectacular, I love watching the cars go through it even though the actual racing is nonexistent.

Williams are going to just run back the manoeuvre from last year, backing up the field with Albon to give Sainz a free pitstop 😂
hsr@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 3 pts · 72d
At this point Russell might just decide not to brake into T1 lmao
belluck@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 3 pts · 72d
Track‘s fucked, doesn’t look like it‘ll get fixed anytime soon
belluck@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 3 pts · 72d
Looks like they want to continue anyways. That doesn’t seem smart
lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 72d
Good to see Vasseur back on the track after whatever precaution they took yesterday regarding his health.
