It would be nice if they’d simply let us turn it off completely; as in revert to the previous UI.

That sounds like the option to "turn it off" to me.

It's not 100% opaque, but it is about how it was before liquid glass. Apple loves transparency too much to turn it 100% off.

Just turn it off in the Accessibility Settings. Reduce Transparency option

Reduce ≠ off. And it doesn’t affect a lot of other bad ui design decisions.

Agreed. Only use it for a work phone but it's annoying enough for just that. I can't imagine dealing with the appearance for my daily driver.

Even with the "fixes" it's still very unreadable compared to the older version.

A bit too late, that update was so bad and jaring that I ditched ios completely. It sucks because alternatives are not much better.
