Depends on the "investor" and their purpose for "investing".

I'm sure a bunch of MAGA boomers thought they were investing and got rooked.

But everyone else knew they were paying a bribe designed to transfer assets to the Trump family in exchange for "favors" on whatever corrupt dealings they were aiming to influence.
