That's a damn crime, both ethically in discrediting your view, and I would guess legally if they literally went ahead despite the protests of a parent?
Yeah, but more the doing it 'by default' type premptive. None of those are things that have a 'just what we expect' aspect to them, only done if there's a probable cause.
Phimosis was mentioned as I recall, that and the goo under the hood.
There are a good number of evolutionary remnants that may not be ideal or even needed (wisdom teeth, tailbone, appendix, etc) but we don't go performing preemptive surgery because of them.
Yeah, the dumber a fixed device (ie: tv, stereo, something that I don't control the OS on and isn't readily swappable like a Chromecast/Roku) is the better.

There seems to be an over-representation of people on here with a self-righteous, purity tested sort of mentality preaching to others how they should be shamed for not abiding by some rigid standard they would see as worthy. It wears thin after a while.
The 'curse of' bit has a feel of that, 'you're an unenlightened cur for finding it amusing'.
The balance as I see it is between 'nobody should be upset about anythin so say whatever you want' vs 'you have to be forever careful of every word lest someone be upset'. Somewhere in there is a balance where people don't have to be constantly on edge but aren't acting like an unrestrained asshole.
Next up, Canada refuses to sell us anything used to make McD's hamburdurs and diet coke, Donnie's starves, and eventually the world recovers and goes back to sanity...
To an extent that's how it works with my ebook. Got a case off Etsy that has a snap-shut pocket the size of my phone. That couple seconds to unclip it and slide it out in addition to unlocking it makes it a lot less tempting to check on that ding that went off while reading.
Would need a source on that one, most show Biden added a big chunk which isn't particularly surprising when you have fallout from a major pandemic to contend with, but Donnie was all full of 'will totally pay it all off no problem'.

I got pushback when I told my ex and docs no to chopping my kid despite having been so myself.
