Firefox FTW. The mobile version isn't flawless (it feels memory-leaky, in that it gets worse the longer you're browsing, and it's not great on lower-end phones) but it's worth it for mobile adblock.

memory-leaky

The desktop version assuredly is. I finally had to restart my machine because firefox had piled up 70gb of ram.

You may want to check about:performance next time. I've had hundreds of tabs open for months before without an issue. I'd wager you've got a broken addon.

Yeah I'm burning this machine down soon and reinstalling. But yeah. Its weird.

I haven't tested MV3 ad blockers on Chrome because it was easier to just switch to Firefox back when Chrome first made MV2 disabled by default.

If you use a single Google influenced product, you’re an idiot.

Maxxie@piefed.blahaj.zone · 19 pts · 83d (2 replies)

The whole internet is Google-influenced.

I'm trying to use DDG but I find more often than I like I have to !g.

kibblebits@quokk.au · 4 pts · 83d (6 replies)

Out of curiosity, can you give an example of a search that ddg failed at and Google succeeded?

Well…. You’re looking for a title. It shows at the top of both. Both succeed. You can hit videos and get videos on both. You can hit images and get images. I see nearly the same results on both.

kibblebits@quokk.au · 2 pts · 83d (1 reply)

DuckDuckGo.com. They also have a very good mobile browser. The desktop browser is a little meh compared to the vast competition.
