Historically that's not how folks have met and gotten in relationships. We have had small tight-knit communities with people we see every day, and social groups much the same, and you'd constantly be exposed to people and flirt and develop a rapport before making a move. So don't feel bad if your stranger game isn't amazing. You weren't really wired for it. (unless you're gay, in which case, let's touch peepees out back)

Ask the couples you know how they met. It's almost always their educational institution or place of work or through a close family member or friend. I have literally never heard anyone's story say that it was a stranger. I've been out of the dating game for well over a decade, but I get the impression now that unsolicited approaches (with romantic intent) are less welcome than ever and many would consider it to be unexpected harassment.

Hoodies in bed? Plus covers? Maybe they should worry more about being able to afford heat

papalonian@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 65d (4 replies)

Why pay to heat up the air around you and pollute the environment when you can wear a hoodie and just warm yourself?

This dude has paid some utility bills.

Heard of district heating?

You sound like my cheap ass parents. I had a horrible, cold childhood. In fact, fuck you.

Sounds like you needed a better sweater ✨✨✨

I would make the entire bed soggy after ten minutes of spooning and wearing a hoodie under the covers. Also, who tf puts their TV along one side of the bed rather than at the foot?

To me it looks like a PC monitor (and you can see the chair)

I've done that. Didn't turn into a relationship but had a nice time.

That looks sweaty and boring

Cris_Citrus@piefed.zip · 5 pts · 65d

That's okay, you should feel free to pursue the things in life that you hope to experience :)

For some people this is aspirational, and its nice to chat with other folks who are wishing from the same things in life and share in the experience of hoping for connection and tenderness- but if this specific image doesnt evoke something you want thats okay. Theres no obligation to connect with every meme, there are enough to go around for all of us :)

It looks cute to me :P

REDACTED@infosec.pub · 1 pts · 65d

Sweaty? Sure. Boring? Sure. I guess it's a meme.

Disclaimer: I'm introverted who has never felt comfortable doing this.

Life goal that matters. 👍
