Giant '86 47' found marked in the grass on the National Mall

Images from EarthCam showed numbers on the lawn since at least Wednesday afternoon, with the number eight appearing most clearly as browned grass. It's not clear what caused the grass to brown.

Remember when Bart put Bart with herbicide on the lawn of the school...

Trump just told his chief of staff to write down the nuclear launch codes somewhere where he wouldn’t keep losing them.

If James Comey retweets this, that’s obviously a death threat.

I've seen this done with fertilizer - it's too concentrated so it kills the grass, but then it disperses a bit and you get really lush grass where it was applied. For years it's a different color. Of course they'll probably bulldoze the whole area.

Nice. I would have suggested gasoline, but that's way too expensive to waste right now.

I suppose one can mix the two, but then you're stepping beyond just vandalism

What if it was just a popular running/biking route?

Grass samples . . . Somebody walked out there with some saltwater or grass killer, you probably want some pictures going after everyone in a 100 mile radius that bought some roundup around spring is going to be a tall order.

Who buys it? Go borrow some from a neighbor who bought it 10 years ago 😅

Looked more like they landed a drone and created crop circles. Maybe they affixed a blade to the bottom and landed. Would explained why it fades out, blade dulled after the 8.

Simpsons did it!

Looks like a drone, maybe. Also, application would have been a handful of hours or less before either sprinklers or rain. Mpre surfactant would have done a better job.
