Yeah at f/1.8 six images is still shallow dof. You should shoot at something in the f/7-11 range for more depth of field. I've used that same software and it can leave quite a few artifacts.

I don't think it needed focus stacking, also it is quite blurry

It totally did, the focus depth is super short with the ring. The background's blurry, but that's on purpose
