Those donโt seem like seismic changes, but if the pace continues it could be significant. My main worry is that we end up with equally shitty companies just under a different jurisdiction.
Until the far-right lead the dominant EU players such as Germany & France. Weโre already up to our necks in genocide so I see no reason to expect basic decency in this context either.
It's "up YOUR neck". Carry your own responsibility and please don't push it to others.
Second: the loosy way of juggling with (scientific and historic) concepts is exactly how Putin has been
lying about "nazi in the other country/countries" (and claiming said coutry is not real or is not valid) - to present an excuse to attack the neighbours.
Yeah, their list of controversies is getting quite unwieldy and they really don't deserve to be on any list of european alternatives. Aside from selfhosting your local music collection, there's maybe qobuz, which I might be giving a try at some point, though they're a bit expensive.
It will be a trickle away from US dominance - until it's not. These things take time and seem imperceptible in the beginning. They were still building canal systems when the first railways were coming online.

They made it really easy to get into and really hard to get out of, so any progress in that direction is great, but it's gonna take literal decades.

If the EU at least has the option to regulate them directly on EU soil that will already be a big step forward.

I dont prefer to be so pessimistic about the future. I don't believe the EU will break down or fail as a project even if times are rough

I don't think the EU will fail functionally. It has already failed morally and legally.

Tltr: be responsible and stop lying!

Step by step. I'm doing my part, you should also do yours.
Here are a few suggestions of where to start on a personal level (difficulty: easy):
You don't need to change all at once or even pick one of the suggestions, but start using European tech gradually.

Yup put it in the bin. Switching to Qobuz has been such a great change for me. Have been really enjoying finding new music again

Being using both for a while and they are getting better at a fast pace.
