I've pulled in $3.50 in a day from complaints alone. Problem is it's my money but it's still $3.50 so it's not a loss. We've moved to foreign currency now because the big numbers are more scary.
If you ever want cringe lyrics the stuff Tim Rice wrote for Andrew Lloyd Webber are amazingly awful. And look how popular they were!
Lyrics are an interesting thing, when blended with the music they can often convey emotions and ideas in a way that transcend what the actual words themselves do. Language is an amazingly intricate and complex communication method that can sometimes convey more through imperfection than when you get everything right.
Definitely warmer this morning than yesterday morning. Almost winter solstice and it's like, 19c today and 20c tomorrow.
And they say climate change isn't real, pfft. PFFFT!
Editing this so not to double post lol:
Got a rent increase notice, from Sept it'll be over $2k per month. And yet, for the location and apartment, it's still below market ๐๐๐ Fuck this fucking fuck shit.
Ouch. This is why I have ended up in Ballarat. I just count myself fortunate that I could move my job too. Trying to find an affordable rental that was appropriate for a dog as well was not looking likely.
wages and benefits should be so much higher, since the destruction of unions and manufacturing industry wages have severely declined
and fuck the REA industry, they get a percentage of the rent so of course they are going to push increases every year, also the scam of all the inspections
reas do not give a shit about renters, their source of money is the landlord and it's them they are squeezing too
At the p's.. the complaining is getting too much so left a jar and a whole lot of 5/10/20c coins on the kitchen table. Basically a swearing jar but for complaining about things that no one cares about.
Kicked it off by telling ol' boy off about the position of the butter in the fridge. Cost me 20 cents.
Bread board not parallell to the edge of the kitchen bench... And I'm 50 cents down.
I'm losing money but geez I should have thought of this before. Haven't had any complaints in 2 days.
Pepper would complain that she only got 12 temptations, and Foxy got 13. Foxy would complain that Pepper exists. Oreo would complain about the lack of sunshine hours in which to bake, and the dog does complain about people walking past, birds in trees and cats that want to smooch her but change their minds and bite her mid smooch.
I would like to thank my past self for freezing some cheese sauce that went very well on my cauliflower and broccoli to serve with some baked salmon. I would also like to thank yesterday's self for making enough apricot crumble that I could eat it two days in a row.
I'm having one of those Reddit conversations where I'm not sure if the other person is a troll or just really, really dumb. It's a bit of a coin flip at this time.
I'm always a bit perplexed by people who troll that way. Why do people find coming across as really stupid to be something to aim for?
I tend to err on the side of assuming really, really dumb, but part of me doesn't want to believe people are actually that stupid. But I don't engage unless it's something that I think will be useful to other people to read anyway so it's not like it matters that much.
I paid 'em. ..lol Which is better than paying someone else, this way they get some money and I get the job done. The cake was free and a total surprise. They also brought some nice bread. ๐
Nightmare stuff at trivia tonight. The venue had a complete AV overhaul since last week. My powerpoint and HDMI port are gone. They're using a new wifi based system that requires downloading another program, but that required a reboot and windows as forcing an update on me so I wasn't going to play the brick lottery right before trivia.
I managed to share a screen but couldn't extend the display, so it required a lot of ALT+TABing. I think it's sorted now after the reboot, but it would have been nice to know ahead of time
And another cash win tonight. Got pizza on the way home, came out to $20.90. So I was like, "Sorry, the best I can do is $30." So they said $20's fine, because of course it is. They may not have done it if I was like "is $20 okay?" but because I tried to accommodate them in the worst way possible they gave me almost 5% off
::: spoiler Vegemite Adventure Memory
My favourite Vegemite memory is myself and three friends taking a plate of properly spread Vegemite bread to a bar in Upstate New York. We were a spectacle (even the town Mayor came out that night!) but no one wanted to try the bread. At one point, one of my friends was sitting in a booth, crying and stuffing her face with the bread in order to try and sober up. Meanwhile I horrified a room full of Americans with my liberal use of the word cunt.

::: spoiler Reverse Trick-or-Treating
My partner at the time at in were in Boulder Colorado for Halloween and I've always wanted to go Trick-or-Treating (thanks to reading Goosebumps as a kid), but since we were WAY too old, we decided to go Reverse Trick-or-Treating - as in, we got dressed up as bogan Aussies, filled our treat buckets with mini caramello koalas, tim tams and those individual serve packs of Vegemite (like at breakky buffets and whatnot) and off we went, handing treats out.
At the end of the night, we still had most of the Vegemite in our buckets, it seemed people assumed they were the trick. Lots of confused and delighted people though.
Meant we were leaving handfuls of Vegemite at our AirBnBs for the rest of the trip!

I'm totally biased as this is one of my favourite movies and books of all time
but this music is also wonderful, the simple melody evokes the innocence of Scout and then the other instruments join in, these are the people who join in her story, Gem, Dill, Atticus and also Boo. And later there is the melancholy and growing sophistication which echoes her adult understanding of life and people and the events of her childhood, because this story is a story of childhood told by an adult.
I love this music, wish I could explain it better but I'm not a musician.

More practice I guess, but it's annoying.

I think cats would have to add in a whisker per swear so to speak. Not having opposable thumbs would make it difficult to pick up a coin to put in.
