I recall hearing a similar system being used to chase geese away from airport runways. The dog has a great time and the geese don't get sucked into jet engines. It's win-win.

This kind of thing is why I think robot dogs are the stupidest type of robot for humans to focus on making, dogs already exist and most work dog breeds want a role to play to feel like they contribute to their pack, they are an amazingly adapted animal capable of easily learning.
