Chipmunks are considered squirrels. They're members of the Sciuridae family.

Here's the thing. You said a "chipmunk is a squirrel."

Is it in the same family? Yes. No one's arguing that.

Chipmunks are a type of squirrel. It's not hard to understand. The family Sciuridae are squirrels and chipmunks are in it.

Chipmunks are adorable. And SO fast!
