Tried my hand at rolls for the first time

Simple dinner rolls with a honey butter glaze.

Recipe here!

Pretty sure I found my new Christmas dinner contribution... wowza these were so good. Followed the recipe to a T (except I used 1/3 whole grain flour). Will be trying out some of the other flavours mentioned in the blog next time.

The dough was very satisfying to handle. I am not great at shaping yet and need to work on my pinching and rolling technique, but overall for my first go at them I was pleased.

Those are what Alton Brown would call "edible hugs".

They look delicious!

Do you want to know what my city does with buns like these?

Looks like a better version of what in the UK we'd call a "chip butty", e.g. fried potato in bread.

Many people don't appreciate the carb + carb combination, but clearly it can be elevated to something special.

Did you use bread flour or AP? Enriched dough rolls are so comforting to me. I love them!

I used bread flour, with 1/3 of total weight being whole grain.

Wild. I made this same recipe this last weekend (though I used salted butter and doubled the salt added, because I like salt). Turned out great, can confirm!
