If you are having a hypoglycemic emergency, sure. But the more fundamental point is if you don't eat food that spikes blood glucose your insulin won't be going crazy and you won't have hypoglycemic emergencies.

You might be interested in reading Dr. Bernstein's type 1 Diabetes solution book - his whole philosophy was keep the inputs low (ketogenic), requiring small doses of insulin, makes excursions very small and manageable - plus he goes into the different insulin types and how modern food doesn't match the natural insulin response curve, it's fascinating
