Microsoft extends Windows 10 Security updates until 2027. i.e. "Not enough people are updating to Windows 11 so we need to do something to keep Win10 users from getting hacked."

I don't give a shit. Microsoft finally gave me the push I needed to switch to Linux, and I'm not coming back.

That's a link to linkedin, so I'm gonna "no thanks" that one. I'm not visiting that hell-hole.

"We caused the biggest E-waste event in 30 years, AND completely alienated lower income customers, so I guess we'll give the broke plebs and privacy minded users a little more time in the hopes they won't show up in Redmond with pitchforks and torches."

this is actually probably going to slow down Linux adoption. I saw some people on Reddit saying this gives them more time before having to switch to Linux.

I've been on Linux for a while but what is really telling is that my not as technical wife was willing to switch to Linux. Yeah she didn't like having to relearn an OS but she hated all the AI crap that Microsoft continues to keep pushing more. So I guess thanks Microsoft.

I'm really happy about this. I still need Windows but refused to make the jump to 11 on my personal computer, and now I can continue to do that a little longer!
