“We’re going to stop watering down American history. We’re going to teach the truth. Our nation was founded as a Christian nation, and Texas is a Christian state,” said Hall, a Republican who is a pastor in Springtown. He said the Bible has had a “remarkable impact on our culture, our societies and our laws.”
No, you fucking brainstem, this nation was not founded as a xtian nation.
And no, "the" bible did not have much impact on our laws. Find one mention of it in the Constitution.
And then look at the First Amendment vs. the so-called "first commandment". They are in direct conflict with one another. In this free country, I'm well within my rights to worship any god I want, or no god at all.
Your rules are for YOU and those in your book club. They don't apply to everyone. No one, least of all minorities in a captive audience, should be obligated to have to listen to your blatantly stupid and wrong bullshit.
This holier than thou attitude that equates religion solely with ignorance and hatred. Essentially blaming all of the world's problems on the feet of the religious when it's usually just the greedy and prideful. Its like that episode of South Park where they love the smell of their own farts.
Internet atheism is ripe with pretentiousness which is weird because in person it's usually quieter and a lot more nuanced. And before you go there I don't subscribe to any religion but I don't feel the need to call the religious stupid
The Establishment Clause of the First Amendment to the United States Constitution prohibits Congress from establishing an official religion or favoring one religion over another. This clause ensures a separation of church and state, allowing individuals the freedom to practice their religion without government interference. This is EXACTLY the opposite of that and I’m so sick of these right wing assholes trying to rewrite history to fit their agenda.
Apparently, decade upon decade of radical extremism among xtians along with huffing their own farts in their propaganda chambers has led to trying to completely overturn our system, in the hopes that out of the 45,000+ denominations of xtianity, it will be their personal lifestyle's denomination that will come out on top...
This move reeks of desperation of a dying sphere of influence. The old geezers who pushed it will have short term gratification, many on the way to their graves.
But imposing their views will come at a cost. Kids are more aware than they think. The backlash to being force-fed christianity will poison its tentacles even as they grow.
"This is a work of fiction. Names, characters, businesses, places, events, locales, and incidents are either the products of the author's imagination or used in a fictitious manner. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, or actual events is purely coincidental."
you've never seen that? you must not read very much.

It's the biggest anti-culture work ever created. That shit still divides Humanity faster than a cancerous cell does. So much xenophobia and racism is provoked by religious elitism. The Bible is useless. Like 99.9% of the world hasn't even read more than 5 pages, honestly. We don't need religion to be good people.

If religious people could read they would be very angry with your comment. But then again, if they could read they likely wouldn't be religious.

I can smell the pretentiousness of this comment through my phone....

Ironically, it was xtian activists that were highly concerned about those freedoms in the very early days:
