It's not the solution, but it's a part of most possible solutions. The prospects of an armed revolt aside, civilian guns are a useful deterrent for when the state tries to clamp down on civil disobedience by force. There's a reason armed demonstrations are harassed much less by the police, for example.
At this point the last two years and probably what will follow are proof that disorganized public gun ownership is basically no defense against tyranny. That the core argument of gun ownership we've asserted for years is a lie.
Having room to demonstrate on a street corner for a weekend is a vapid victory, a relief valve for the real problems. Human beings are still being thrown into chain link dog kennels with no due process. Corruption is still being conducted openly at the highest levels. People are still being killed in illegal and capricious wars of choice.

It's not a lie per se; it just makes unjustified assumptions. The assertion that civilian gun ownership can be used to defend against tyranny is true and has plenty of historical support, but it assumes that there are people willing to wield those guns. What's missing in America first and foremost is will to resist, making the existence or non-existence of guns a moot point. What disorganized public gun ownership can or can't accomplish can be debated when the public is willing to protest on weekdays; I don't think either of us would evaluate the effectiveness of a hammer based on how well an amputee can use it.
I don't know. I think there is a reason done of the largest crackdowns of this administration where in Minneapolis. It's a blue city, the governor ran against him, and they have strict gun laws. You didn't hear much about police brutality in places where Black Panthers showed up open carrying with the protesters. If the left embraced firearms and open carry those protests might be more effective...

Americans already have not-guns. If not-guns resulted in positive change, then why haven't Americans improved their situation yet?
Clearly, nothing can ever have any positive benefit whatsoever.
